Great, long lasting cut 12/08/2007 I went to Shanna about two months ago and she did a great job with my color and cut. She was very happy to give advice about how to handle my hair on my own. I found this to be extremely helpful since I have thick, curly and dry hair that I wear both straight and curly. and a cut and I couldn't be happier. When I first sat down, she
told me about her vision for my hair. It was EXACTLY what I was
thinking. It's nice to know that we were on the same page. She was
fun and easy to talk to. My color turned out awesome and the cut
was fabulous! I have received many compliments so far and everyone
wanted to know who did my hair. I have never been happier leaving
a salon. From now on, I won't let anyone but Shanna do my hair.

Shanna is great! 11/27/2007 Shanna has been cutting my hair for several years now. Every time
I leave the salon, I get so many compliments. She really listens
to what I want, and is very patient when I am not ready to try something
new. However, she gives lots of great ideas/tips, and she always

Great for Changing Styles 11/16/2007 I went to Shanna wanting to change my tired long blonde hair, and
I'm so happy with my new cut/color. We went for a brunette/auburn
color and it turned out fantastic. Shanna gave me a great cut for
my face shape, and this is the best color I think that I've had.

I was not disappointed! 11/09/2007 We got married in Austin. October 31, 2007. It was so hectic. I was a basket case! I was lost finding the salon by 40 minutes. Everyone was absolutely fabulous! I had no idea what I wanted or needed. Babbling idiot comes to mind. Shanna was so awesome! She asked me what I wanted, I told her I didn't know--Just do something. She looked at me like I was just a little nutty (which I was!!--I was getting married in a few hours -----I liked Shanna instantly). She did the perfect color for me, as well as the absolute most perfect hair style! It is so easy, which is a must. You could not go wrong with Catena's or Shanna! I say go for it! Fantastic Stylist, Genuine Person!!!! 11/02/2007 After leaving a trusted stylist on the east coast I was scared of what I was going to get in Austin. When my original stylist ran off and got married on me I was very nervous about who I could find to cut my hair and make me happy. My hair dresser is as important to me as my doctor. Best HairStylist and Colorist in Central Texas! 10/28/2007 I had had a very horrible experience with another stylist who had gone from working in a salon to working from home that I was afraid of ever finding a competent stylist. My previous stylist did such a terrible job on my hair both in butchering the cut and in making my hair color really awful, that I have not been to another stylist since that time, which was May 2007. I feel that God brought me to Shanna. She both cut and colored my hair and it looks fabulous. Her view is that hair should be healthy first and spent a lot of time conditioning my hair and giving me her professional advice about what I could do to take better care of my hair. As a bonus, Shanna is a wonderful listener and gave me the most amazing advice. I feel that she really cares about me and my hair and I will never go anywhere else after just one visit to her. I'm now a lifelong client and yesterday was my first visit to her and first time meeting her. She's amazing. You really should give her a try. Her salon is very close to the drag at UT but has it's own parking lot, which is wonderful. She also has the salon decorated in a very feminine and antique-looking manner. Skilled stylist and colorist 10/16/2007 After recently moving to Austin, I was nervous about finding a new hairstylist after seeing the same stylist for 7 years. My first appointment with Shanna was great. She offered suggestions for changing my look yet listened to me and supported my decision to "stick with" my current cut/style until I feel ready for a bigger change. I did appreciate that she offered me her ideas on what she thought would work for me and my hair, and I feel confident that she has very good stylistic insights. She did a wonderful job on my color/highlights-- it looks very natural which to me is the most important thing. Shanna is also easy to talk to, and I could see she truly enjoys her work. She was also very effective in managing time and I was not at the salon for an excessive amount of time. Always walk away happy 09/22/2007 Shanna has been my hairdresser for over ten years. The studio, Catena's, is conveniently located and a friendly and comfortable environment. I enjoy going there but it is Shanna's expertise that keeps me coming back. She does great color (highlighting, I'm a blonde) and cuts (fairly short for me). In addition, you can always tell her if you're not happy with the way your hair is looking and she will work with you to get it to your satisfaction. She will give you her ideas but always honor yours. She also does my daughter's hair (also highlighting and long hair). Once Shanna was unable to see her and she let someone else do her highlights. Shanna's the best! 09/20/2007 I wanted an updated look -- new style, new length, new color -- but I didn't know exactly what I wanted. I told Shanna she could do whatever she wanted with my hair. She asked me some questions to determine how much time/effort I was willing to invest in a style (not much), and then she came up with great new look for me. I love it! It's the next best thing to a face lift! Shanna is a joy to work with. She wants her clients to be happy with their cuts/color and she'll do whatever is necessary to please them. She's sensitive to my budget constraints and has offered a plan to help me maintain my "new look" without breaking the bank. Shanna has a warm and relaxed manner, and the salon has a cozy ambiance. Great hairstyle to fit me 09/20/2007 I used to go to the really cheap places to get hair cuts and color my hair myself. After reading all of her customer's comments, I decided to splurge on myself and go to see Shanna. I let her have free reign of my hair and come up with a style that meets my lifestyle - easy to maintain, easy to style, but a stylish cut for going out. The new style fit perfectly with all of these things. The coloring was a very rich tone, close to my natural color but it just makes my hair pop. Great Lengths with Shanna 09/05/2007 This is my second time to have extensions. This product works much better than the first. You can shower, sweat, brush and sleep without issue. There is very little slippage or tangling. Shanna is great to work with. She will work with your schedule, give you privacy and even let you "do your own thing" while she magically "grows" your hair. Shanna is the queen of curly hairstylists! 08/27/2007 I live in Universal City and had been looking for someone who 'specialized' in cutting curly hair. I'd had some pretty disastrous results from stylists who just didn't know how to do my type of hair, so when I did a google search and saw Shanna's video and she had curly hair like mine, I thought, that looks like a woman who knows her stuff! The drive was over an hour long because of traffic, but I will say without any hesitation that it was well worth it! First, she was very friendly and open and we talked about what I was looking for and what we thought would work best for me. I'm just going to jump to the best part and say, "I love my hair now!" I haven't felt this good about my hair in a LONG time! And if that weren't enough, I had just gone through a break up and was feeling pretty down, but she made me feel so much better just by being herself - Open, candid, engaging and I just felt a real connection with her. I came into see Shanna a couple weeks ago after getting hair extensions from another Salon that truly damaged my hair. She has done an excellent job fixing and repairing the damage that was done. I just visited Shanna at Catena's hair studio and am thrilled. I am a mom of four, who operates a business out of my home. I struggle to find time to make myself look good. Shanna totally got my situation and gave me a great cut and color. I can now walk out the door with an actual style in minutes! Great first time visit 08/02/2007 It was my first time at Catena's hair studio. Even though there was a slight confusion on my appointment, the owner was more than willing to help accommodate me. I felt welcomed and well served. The customer service was excellent and the environment was enjoyable. My hair cut was great and the stylist, Suzanne, was well informed. I just had my first haircut with Shanna and loved it! She knew just what to do with my naturally curly hair to make it look great. I have only been to Catena's twice, and the last visit was 5 weeks ago when I had a cut and color with Shanna. I was a bit nervous after she suggested a color that I hadn't thought much about, but I said, "let's go for it" and I am so glad I did. 5 weeks later the color is still very vibrant and hasn't faded, and the cut is very versatile with my naturally curly hair. She even colored my eyebrows, and since that was the first time ever that I've had my brows colored, I was scared I'd look like Groucho Marx, but they looked so natural and perfect with my honey blonde color. I would definitely recommend Shanna and her talent/expertise to any one of my friends, and look forward to coming back to the salon. One thing that I also appreciated was the fact that Shanna is willing to work with a client during times of ultimate change and pampering, but also when a budget is something that has to be adhered to and a haircut is all that can be done at a visit. Shanna is the best!!!!!!!! 07/23/2007 Shanna is a genius! I was in Austin on business and needed a new "Look". She was fabulous!!! She squeezed me in and made me feel like I had known her for years. After moving to Austin from Chicago over a year ago I was concerned that I would find a hair stylist with whom I was as satisfied with as my one back home. After a few 'bad hair' experiences, a friend referred me to Shanna and all was well with the world. You can tell she loves what she does, and is very focused on making sure her clients get what they want. She will make suggestions, which I like, and keeps on top of the latest trends in her profession. I am inclined to 'change my look' both color and cutwise every few months, and she has done an excellent job of creating my transformations. I've been a client of Shanna's for 15 years and have very fine, difficult hair. After all these years, Shanna still asks what I'd like to have done with each appointment, listens, offers suggestions based on new hair technology and products, and makes the entire haircut experience loads of fun! She's fantastic with cuts, perms, color and everything else in between, not to mention a great sense of humor. And, she's always on time! Fantastic for most of us with busy schedules. Shanna invests a lot of time with the latest training, trends and techniques and it shows each time you walk out of the salon. Best Hair Stylist Ever!!!!!!! 06/05/2007 Shanna Is absolutely amazing! I've known her for about one year and now wish that I had never gone anywhere else. I met her just as I needed to find a new stylist and was nervous because of a bad experience I had had previously. She made me feel comfortable from the minute I walked in. I have known Shanna for almost 10 years. I have curly hair that I regularly color and she always has ideas for styles and products for my type of hair. Also, she understands what people with curly hair want because she has curly hair! I would recommend Shanna to almost anyone (with straight or curly hair) because she has a good eye for what styles work with different face shapes and she is always up on the latest products for coloring and maintaining healthy hair. My hair is extremely thick and wavy-- a combination that's proven difficult to other "premier" stylists. Best hair stylist 04/18/2007 I initially followed my sister's recommendation to try Shanna as a stylist. That was about 5 years ago. Shanna is awesome at what she does. Super Stylist 03/19/2007 Shanna is one of those stylists who's not happy unless your cut and color are perfect. She strives to improve her skills so that she has the best to offer her clients. I am a student at UW in Seattle. My roommate and I attempted to highlight my long, dark brown hair. Oh, my gosh, what a mess! The highlight color was all wrong for me; it had a green hue to it and looked like it was striped. Fortunately, I had a family event in Austin to attend shortly after the "hair" fiasco, so my mom scheduled an appointment for me to see Shanna. Well, what a difference! Shanna completely colored my hair back to it's natural color. Then, because I still wanted some highlights, she highlighted my hair just enough to frame my face and the color was more of a golden hue. Long story-short, my hair looks great. Incredible cut and color

I guess the best testament to good service of any kind is whether or not you would go back for more. Well, after 12 years I have never even considered going to see any other stylist. Shanna has seen me through so many milestones in my life from my wedding (with an amazing "up-doo") to conquering my fear of color. Master at Hair Extensions!

I have been a client of Shanna’s for the past three years. She is amazing with color and cuts. I can always expect to get just what I ask for when I go she Shanna. Shanna has now become a master at Great Lengths hair extensions. I am on my second set of extensions and I LOVE them. I feel 10 years younger with my new long hair and feel completely confident that no one would get that I have extensions. Shanna is not only talented but honest, trustworthy and really fun to be around. I wouldn’t have survived the 5 hours in the chair to get my extensions done had she not kept me entertained with her witty personality. I am so lucky to have found Shanna, my stylist. A friend of mine recommended her to me recently and now I am hooked! My hair takes a lot of time and patience (extensions) and Shanna creates an environment that will make you feel comfortable and energized even after several hours in a chair. She is not only my stylist, she has become my friend and confidant. She's knowledgeable and is always trying to improve her skills in order to provide what her customer's want. If you're looking for a stylist who will be honest about what cut or color looks best for your hair type and face, she's your gal! I’ve been seeing Shanna for 12 years now and there simply isn’t anyone else I would ever go to. She is a consummate stylist and colorist. I have referred many people, both men and women, to her and not one has ever reported back even the mildest dissatisfaction.
